===Qt===

Note that you do NOT need to install Qt separately to build ParaView.  If you use the ParaView Superbuild, it will download and configure and build Qt internally exactly as it needs it.

====Recommended: Using a binary installer====

You can get a binary installer from http://download.qt-project.org/archive/qt/ .  Make sure that you download the Cocoa version, because the Carbon version won't work with any 64 bit code.

If you ever need to remove Qt as installed with the binary installer, you can do it with 

 sudo /Developer/Tools/uninstall-qt.py

Get the source from http://get.qt.nokia.com/qt/source/qt-everywhere-opensource-src-4.6.4.tar.gz .

 ./configure -cocoa -arch x86_64 -release -framework -prefix /opt/qt-4.6.4
 make -j 8
 sudo make install
