====Initialize procedure==== If an external USB device is to be used to archive measurement data, the USB device must be initialized by Open- VMS. The data will not be accessible from any other operating system. - Attach the USB device to the front USB port of the Itanium rx2660. (note: Itanium rx2620 only supports USB1.1, which will have a very slow transfer rate) - Open the Scanco backup/archive software. - Select the correct USB device with the arrow buttons in the “USB Device” section. - Use the “Initialize<” button in the “USB Device” section to initialize the USB device. - Confirm the Warning message. Note: All data currently on the device will be erased! - Enter a six-character label The USB device will be initialized and mounted.
