==Linux Distributions== The instructions here are for Ubuntu Linux, version 10.04. The linux computers in the lab, at the time of writing, are all Ubuntu. Ubuntu is a Debian-based linux distribution, and the instructions will be pretty much identical for another Debian-based distro. If you have a linux distribution that uses a different package management system (such as Red Hat), then you won't be using apt-get, but the concepts are similar.
