==Use UAlberta Westgrid (Finite element analysis)== Get at account: Dear Steve: I have a summer student that I'd like to run some FE models on the UAlberta Westgrid (nexus.westgrid.ca). Should I get her to sign up for an account, or is this something I should/can do for her? She should sign up herself, using the web page at <https://rsg.nic.ualberta.ca>, joining your existing WestGrid project, number 500018. :Login:
ssh skboyd@nexus.westgrid.ca
:Password: pword: std#1 plus first four letters of std#1 :Useful links: :* http://www.ualberta.ca/CNS/RESEARCH/WestGrid/ :* http://www.ualberta.ca/CNS/RESEARCH/PBS/index.westgrid.html :On nexus, there are two directories: :* HOME: /site/home/skboyd :* WORK: /scratch/skboyd # Transfer your AIM to nexus:
#:Use ftp from nexus to the CCIT SUN (136.159.118.224) to transfer one or two AIMs to the 'work' directory on aurora. # Use ebe_mesh on nexus to generate the mesh with the required options (i.e., -v?). # Change back to the HOME directory and modify 'josh01.pbs' to reflect the name of the new mesh. You'll have to use VI to modify the file. Instructions on use of 'vi' are in the UNIX book that is sitting on the shelf (or ask Stephan or Michael perhaps?). # Submit the job: 'qsub josh01.pbs' # Check the status of the job: qstat (see http://www.ualberta.ca/CNS/RESEARCH/PBD/index.html) # Copy the 'e' and 'o' files to HOME/eo # Transfer the .dat file with ftp back to your PC (delete the .inp file). :DONE! (after repeating a whole PILE of times!)
